In 1966 "Don Wood Photography" was born. What started out by today's standards as humble beginnings, the business grew year by year.

'73 Saw the first major move from working at home to a small shop in Kingsgrove which was to be the studio for the next couple of years. Two more moves were to follow - the last being some 24 years ago to Stoney Creek Road, Kingsgrove.

In 1989 Stuart joined his parents in the business after completing his HSC to take up a 4 year course at UTS in Sydney. In his final year he was honored with Student of the Year - a fantastic achievement considering at the beginning of the course he was the only student who didn't know how to load film in a camera.

This was only the beginning for Stuart who went on to become the Australian AIPP Wedding Photographer of the Year, The NSW Wedding Photographer of the Year (twice), and the Ilford Trophy for the highest scoring wedding photograph in Australia and New Zealand. With a string of awards to his credit, Stuart is the recipient of his third Masters - making him Australia's youngest Triple Master - a great achievement.

In 2000 Don was honoured with the inaugural Henry Talbot Award for services rendered to the Photographic Industry. He was a very humble recipient, saying he has loved every day of his working life.

Shelley joined the family business - if you can't beat them, join them - in '96 and is now totally indispensable like her brother. both Stu and Shell work side by side in what has to be the most successful family business in the Photographic Industry, and that is due 100% to the fact that they, like their parents, love what they do.
